KHAIRPUR: Man shot dead over enmity

KHAIRPUR, Jan 6: A man, Mohammad Ayub Shaikh, was shot dead allegedly by Qaimuddin in Osta Gahi Mohalla here on Thursday. His body was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem. Police have arrested the accused.

The father of the deceased had killed the son of Qaim a few years ago and Thursday's murder is said to be an act of revenge.. Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man, Mohammad Alam Malik, was seriously injured when a motorcycle hit him on the National Highway near here. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he died.

In another incident, a man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers in Jafar Khan Jalalani Goth, Thari Mirwah taluka. Both the groups used axes and sticks in the clash in which Mohammad Ashraf Noorani sustained injuries. He died while being taken to a hospital.

The clash was caused by a dispute over right to pass through a street. The Thari Mirwah police, on the complaint of Manthar, the father of the deceased, registered an FIR against Jafar and Gulsher on Thursday.

BODY EXHUMED: The body of a killed villager was exhumed by the Thari Mirwah police in Faiz Mohammad Khokhar village on Wednesday. The victim, Mohammad Yousuf Tunio, is said to have been strangulated by his brother who buried the body in his Otaq (guest house.) The motive behind the murder is said to be a domestic dispute. Police arrested accused Din Mohammad after registering an FIR on Thursday.
