LAHORE, Jan 6: Dacoits, robbers and thieves on Thursday made off with millions of rupees from various parts of the city in several strikes.

Four gunmen stormed into the house of money changer Naveed Ahmad in Shadman, held his family at gunpoint, collected cash in Pakistani and foreign currency, gold jewellery and valuables worth Rs3 million and escaped with the booty.

Ms Rubina Jafri was on way home after withdrawing Rs500,000 in Pakistani and foreign currency from a bank when three gunmen intercepted her car in Y block of Defence. They snatched the money from her and escaped.

Three robbers made off with cash, gold and valuables worth Rs300,000 from the house of Abdul Hameed in Samanabad. Bashir Qureshi was on way home along with his family when two armed men intercepted them in Asif Block of Allama Iqbal Town and snatched cash and gold worth Rs150,000.

Saeed Malik and his family were held at gunpoint in Shah Jamal in Ichhra police limits and deprived of gold ornaments and cash worth Rs60,000. Four gun-toting people, including two women, forced their entry into the house of Dr Hameed Naz in Hanjarwal and took away cash and gold jewellery worth Rs250,000.
