70 journalists for conference in Chandigarh

ISLAMABAD, Jan 4: A group of 70 Pakistani journalists would attend a two-day media conference starting on Thursday in the Indian state of Chandigarh.

The conference aims to promote people-to-people contact between the two countries, Press Trust of India news agency reported.

"On the occasion of silver jubilee year, the Chandigarh Press Club is organizing the first-of-its-kind media conference named Panj Darya (five rivers).

"The conference is being organised in association with the Lahore Press Club," Chandigarh Press Club's Secretary General Ramesh Vinayak said. He said that the conference would discuss the possibility of instituting a media fellowship between the two clubs. -APP
