No trials for LCCA teams

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Jan 3: No trials were held to select two LCCA teams to take part in One-day cricket cup starting from Jan 7. The same teams which had represented the city in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy , (four-day matches) had been retained for the One-day feature.

LCCA president Aamir Hayat Rokhari said that the decision to retain the teams had been taken with mutual understanding between the board and the association.

PCB representative Abdul Raquib with two selectors from the association-Aamir Sohail and Mohammad Ilyas - selected the teams for only Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

Aamir (Sohail) said that the selection committee had selected the teams for Quaid-i-Azam Trophy as per advice by the LCCA. And any change in the policy was the matter between PCB and the LCCA and he was not informed about any new development.

The two big cricketing cities of the country - Lahore and Karachi - were allowed two teams each in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy but none of them qualified for the final, which showed how the four teams performed, but even the boys had been retained for the One- day event.
