Separate electoral rolls for local polls

ISLAMABAD, Jan 2: Separate electoral rolls for Muslims and non-Muslim voters have been prepared for the April 2005 local government elections, Secretary to Election Commission K.M. Dilshad said here.

He said in a statement that a similar exercise had been carried out during the last local government elections held in 2000-01.

He explained that on the top left corner of the electoral rolls for Muslim voters, it was clearly stated that electoral roll was meant for Muslim voters. Similarly, in the electoral rolls for non-Muslim voters, it is mentioned that electoral roll was meant for non-Muslim voters.
