2005 year of stable Pakistan: PML
KARACHI, Jan 2: PML Secretary General Mushahid Husain Saiyed has said that the year 2005 will be 'the year of take off' for Pakistan and realization of President Musharraf's policies.
He was talking to Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim at the CM's House here on Sunday. He observed that the year 2004 was the year of stability of Pakistan and the PML.
He was of the view the previous year had brought firmness in the country's foreign, economic, internal and political policies, besides an improvement in the law and order. Mr Husain hoped that the benefits of the government's policies would trickle down to the people at grassroots level.
He claimed that the large attendance at Gujrat public meeting on Saturday was a clear indication of the popularity of President Musharraf and PML among in masses. He said that the mass-contact drive kicked off from Gujrat would extend to other cities. PML leaders and workers, he added, would pursue the campaign for 'strong president and stable Pakistan'.
He said there was no room for confrontation or negative politics in the country, and advised the opposition that it should also reciprocate the government's offer for a dialogue and adopt the path of reconciliation.
He was of the view that perhaps for the first time, opposition had been enjoying a democratic environment. Mr Husain said that the PML chief, Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, would visit Karachi on Jan 5 and inaugurate a computer network linking the CM's House with the PML House.
During the visit, he added, the party chief would also meet PML workers and motivate them for the upcoming local bodies elections. Dr Arbab Rahim said that his first priority was motivating workers and strengthening the party.
He assured Mushahid Husain of his full support to the central leadership. The chief minister observed that President Musharraf's recent visit to the CM's House and his address had injected a new spirit in PML workers. -APP
