LAHORE, Jan 2: A man allegedly killed his younger brother over an electricity bill issue in Factory Area on Sunday. Police said Muhammad Younus and his elder brother Muhammad Rehmat lived together in a house and shared their utility bills.
Last month's 'high' electricity bill caused an exchange of arguments between them.
Police said during the verbal clash Rehmat punched his brother to death. The accused was handed over to police by his family while Younus' body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, a watchman was stabbed to death over a business dispute in Block H, Model Town. Police said Abdul Hameed, 32, had been a watchman at the house of a widow, Razia Begum, for well over 15 years. The widow had a business dispute with former manager Akhtar Hussain of her juice factory.
They said the former manager had been trying to occupy the Model Town house of the widow, but the watchman would always give him a tough time. The ex-manager together with three accomplices, unidentified so far, forced his entry into the house and attacked the watchman, who got critical injuries and died instantly. The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered with no arrest.
ACCIDENT: Two persons were killed in accidents in the city on Sunday. Rasheeda Bibi, 36, was on way home when a speeding van hit her in Shahdara. She sustained critical injuries and died on way to a hospital.
Afzal Ahmad was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle in Islampura. Both the bodies were returned to families without autopsy. Cases have been registered against the absconding drivers.
