KARACHI: Hospital project reviewed


KARACHI, Dec 31: The Sindh Minister for Planning and Development, Syed Shoaib Bukhari, on Friday reviewed the expansion project of the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital, Orangi Town during his visit to the hospital.

The construction cost of the project was estimated at Rs300 million and work on it was started in Jan 2004. Some Rs30 million had so far been spent on the project in the current fiscal year.

Work on the project was going on in full swing, while work on the ground and first floors of the project had already been completed. Mr Bukhari said that with the introduction of heart, kidney and other important departments, the level of the hospital will come at par with the Civil and Jinnah hospitals.

He said after its functioning, the people living in Orangi Town and surrounding areas would be no more required to go out of their areas for getting medical facilities. The provincial minister directed the officers, working on the project to keep a close watch on its quality and ensure that it gets completed till Feb 2007. - APP
