One-day cricket from Jan 7

KARACHI, Dec 30: The inaugural ABN-AMRO Cup One-day Cricket Championship will be played at the various centres of the country from Jan 7, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.

All the 11 teams which featured in Quaidi-Azam Trophy will participate in the competition. Six teams are drawn in pool 'A', while pool 'B' got five teams. Pool 'A' comprised Lahore Blues, Peshawar, Karachi Blues, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi. Pool 'B' got Karachi Whites, Lahore Whites, Hyderabad, Multan, Quetta.

Top two teams after league matches from each pool will progress in the semi-finals which will be played at Lahore and Karachi on Jan 18 and 20 respectively. Pool 'A' matches will be played at Lahore, Sialkot and Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar while Karachi and Hyderabad will host pool 'B' matches.

The final of the tournament will be held in Lahore on Jan 29. -APP
