NAWABSHAH, Dec 30: Police on Thursday booked 435 Hesco employees and university students for violating section 144, Cr PC.

The A-section police booked Hesco employees Fazal Shaikh, Malik Nizam, Ali Jan Rind, Inam Mughal, Fayaz Qureshi, Rahim Brohi, Manzoor Solangi, Khadim Parhiar, Khalid Bhangwar, Afzal Malik, Yaseen Qureshi and about 400 others under section 188, PPC, for taking out a procession on Wednesday under the banner of the Wapda Hydro Electric Labour Union.

The taluka police station booked students of the Quaid-i-Awam University, including Abdul Majeed, Lala Riaz, Sikandar Rind, Makhdoom Irfan, Amjad Hussain Abid Jamali and 30 others, under sections 188, 148, 147, PPC, for staging rally on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Wapda union at a meeting held here on Thursday condemned the registration of the case against the workers and pledged that they would continue their struggle till acceptance of their demands.
