Meteorite hits house in Iran

TEHRAN, Dec 30: A meteorite weighing at least 16 kilograms hit a house in the south east of Iran on Tuesday, the state news agency IRNA reported on Thursday.

According to local police official Mohammad Arab, the sparkling crystalline rock hit a home in Saravan, Sistan-Baluchestan province. There were no injuries or serious damage.

Police said most of the meteor had already been broken up and taken away by local people before police arrived at the scene. -AFP
