KARACHI, Dec 29: Opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Wednesday criticized the provincial government for its 'non-serious attitude' towards resolving the pressing issues being faced by masses
, and alleged that its attitude during current the current session clearly showed that the government was less bothered about people and their problems.
"But we will continue to seek requisition sessions and raise real issues. We will not allow the government to ignore the people who voted them to power," he told journalists in his assembly building chamber after the session was prorogued.
PPP MPAs Rafique Engineer, Humera Alwani, Nasreen Chandio, Farheen Mughal and Sassui Palejo were also present on the occasion. Mr Khuhro accused the government of avoiding a debate on the issues like Qambar killings, Greater Thal Canal, Kalabagh Dam, etc., and said that the PPP had submitted adjournment motions on all these issues with the assembly secretariat.
The issues were also put on the agenda of the just prorogued session, he added. Mr Khuhro slammed the government for showing no sincerity to masses and getting the session prorogued without having the pressing issued discussed on the floor of the house.
"Why had it summoned the session which continued for four days and cost Rs8.5 million?'' he asked, adding, "this is actually waste of the public money." In reply to a question, he said when there would be a change in political set up in the province, only then the PPP would decide the role it would play in the changed circumstances and political scenario.
The opposition leader demanded regularization of the jobs of 3,500 teachers as was being done in Punjab and NWFP. He also called on the government to resolve the problems being faced by the employees of Thatta and Dadu sugar mills.
