Wanted militant criticizes govt

By Our Correspondent

WANA, Dec 29: Wanted tribal militant Abdullah Mehsud, who carries a reward of Rs5 million on his head, has vowed to continue his struggle in the South Waziristan region.

Talking to Dawn by telephone from his hideout on Wednesday, the militant criticized the federal government policies and its support for the US war on terror.

He said the government had compromised on national interests by providing bases to US forces operating in Afghanistan. The government has already announced Rs5 million reward for people who would help security forces capture the one- legged militant.

The reward was announced at a meeting between Peshawar Corps Commander Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain and tribal elders from Shabikhel and Shamenkhel branches of Mahsud tribe earlier this month.
