Pukhtun nationalists criticized

PESHAWAR, Dec 29: The NWFP general-secretary of Pakistan People's Party, Mr Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, MPA, has said that so-called Pukhtun nationalists have done nothing for the rights of the province and for the betterment of Pukhtuns and added that they have always deceived people with hollow slogans.

Speaking at a meeting of the Pakistan People's Party, Charsadda, at the party secretariat, he said people had now identified the real faces of these elements and they could no longer be hoodwinked by the nationalists.

The meeting reviewed the party matters and preparations for the forthcoming local bodies elections. Mr Sherpao said that PPP was the real representative of Pukhtuns and it was striving for their rights.

He said the party had won the last local bodies and general elections in Charsadda, defeating the so-called champions of the Pukhtuns' rights.

He expressed the confidence that the PPP would emerge victorious in the LB polls as well. He said these elements, despite repeated defeats, had failed to review their 'anti-masses and anti-Pukhtun' policies. -APP
