KARACHI, Dec 29: The University of Karachi on Wednesday released the results of MA (Final) External 2003 and BEd (Morning and Evening) 2004, annual examinations.
As many as 4,294 external candidates took the MA exams, and 2,112 were declared pass with an overall pass percentage of 49.18.
The top three position holders in different subjects included: Arabic; Habibur Rehman 1st, Wasim Shoukat 2nd and Samiullah 3rd. English; Farzana Nasir Ali 1st, Mubarak Nathani 2nd and Saman Ishaq Khan 3rd. Economics; Mohammad Mazhar Manzoor 1st, Nauman Rafiq 2nd and Bilal Qamar was 3rd.
General History; 1st Nasira Saleem, 2nd Meryum Aftab and 3rd Afshan Naz Abbasi. Islamic History; 1st Mohammad Osama Razi Khan, 2nd Shaheen Akhtar and 3rd Naeem. Islamic Studies; 1st Mahwish, 2nd Aamra Ameen Sheikh and 3rd Habibullah.
International Relations; 1st Hina Dawood, 2nd Khan Sameena Riyaz Ahmad and 3rd Saima Rasheed Khan. Political Science; 1st Mehjabeen, 2nd Shazia Kausar and 3rd-Asia. Sindhi; 1st Gul Hassan, 2nd Naila Jabeen and 3rd Afshan. Urdu; 1st Noor-i-Elahi Anjum, 2nd Najmus Sahar Abbasi and 3rd Farzana.
While no student appeared/ passed in the exams for Mathematics and Philosophy. The university also announced the results of MA Economics (Previous) External annual examinations 2003. Of the 2,872 candidates, who appeared in the exams, 746 (25.97 per cent) were declared pass.
BED EXAMS: A total of 1,087 candidates appeared in the BEd (Morning) annual examinations 2004, and 710 passed with a pass percentage of 63.31. The top three positions went to the students of the Jamia Millia Government College of Education.
Bushra Shaheen secured first position, while Mohammed Iqbal and Shereen Yousuf Abbasi got second and third positions respectively. No candidate got A-1 grade in the exams.
The pass percentage in the BEd (Evening Programme) Second year annual examinations 2004 remained 45.88, while it was 56.38 in the BEd (Evening programme) first year annual examinations.
