KARACHI: Haqiqi man shot dead

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 28: An activist of the Mohajir Quami Movement was shot dead on Tuesday morning in Jamshed Quarters police limits by unidentified gunmen.

The police said that Mohammad Nasir alias Bhangi, 35, was sitting at the Osmania Mohajir Colony Chowk, opposite Central Prison, when two men on a motorcycle pumped five bullets into his body and sped away.

The victim died on the spot, and his body was later sent to a hospital for autopsy. The police said that Nasir, father of a son and two daughters, was arrested in 2001, for his alleged involvement in 18 criminal cases. However, he was released on bail a year back, and was facing trials.

BODIES FOUND: The bullet- riddled bodies of two youths were found on Tuesday in the bed of the rivulet in North Nazimabad. Police sent the bodies to a hospital, where they were identified as Mohammad Almas, 30, and Mohammad Imran, 25, both residents of Moosa Colony. The police believed that the youths were kidnapped on suspicion of leaking information to law enforcers, and then shot dead.
