SIALKOT, Dec 28: Punjab (investigation) SSP Qamaruz Zaman raided the Shah Gharib police station in Shakargarh tehsil and freed eight illegally detained people.

Official sources said the police station's record was found incomplete. The SSP expressed dismay and ordered registration of a case against the SHO.

The SSP ordered inquiry against the police officials involved in keeping innocent people in illegal detention, torturing them and extorting bribe from them. Later, the SSP visited the offices of Sialkot city DSP, Shakargarh DSP and Rangpura police station. The record of the police station was also found incomplete.

COP KILLED: Constable Muhammad Ali of Zafarwal police station was reportedly tortured to death by an alleged drug trafficker, Abdul Ghaffar, in Sanakhtra village on Tuesday. Police claimed that constables Muhammad Ali and Salim Ahmad caught Ghaffar selling narcotics. The accused tortured Muhammad Ali, killing him on the spot.

DRUG SEIZED: Motra police claimed to have arrested three drug traffickers, Fiaz, Sakhawat and Arif, while selling narcotics in Sumbalpur village and recovered 2.5 kilograms of hashish from their possession.
