KARACHI, Dec 25: The Pakistan Muslim League will hold a public meeting in the city soon, said Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim while speaking at Quaid-i-Azam Conference here on Saturday.

The conference was organized by the Sindh PML to mark the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The chief minister asked PML workers to begin their homework to make this meeting as a big show of the united PML.

"I am giving you this task. Start preparations from today," he told the workers adding that before this the party would hold a public meeting in the Gadap area of Malir.

He paid rich tribute to the Quaid-i-Azam who, he said, gifted us Pakistan and the Muslim League.

He noted that having a separate homeland "we have all rights and dignity here as compared to those Muslims who are living in India". Pakistan has now become a leading country among the Muslim Ummah," he added.

Dr Rahim, who is also president of the Sindh PML, said the PML was very much organized and capable to ensure socio-economic uplift of the nation. The credit went to President General Pervez Musharraf, who motivated various PML factions to unite. "Rather he brought other political groups into the fold of this only national political party, representing all sections of society and different religions in the country."

He said he joined the PML in the belief that this was the only representative party of the Muslims and this would flourish in future.

He called upon the workers to forge unity and discipline among in their ranks as the Quaid-i-Azam had outlined 'unity, faith and discipline' as basic principles of life.

He said a committee had already been set up to resolve complaints of the coalition partners.

Those who spoke included Bostan Ali Hoti, Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, Haleem Adil Shaikh, Dr Rahimul Haq, Dr Taj and Amanullah Paracha. -APP
