KOHAT, Dec 25: Abdul Majeed Marwat, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Kohat region, has said that modren security techniques are required to combat sophisticated crimes and terrorism.

Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the launching of "Safe Home Project" as chief guest on Friday the DIG said that criminals today were well equipped, highly trained and committed crimes with secrecy. Some time the law-enforcement agencies did not understand the modus operandi of thieves, kidnappers and terrorists therefore there was a need to check crimes before it took place.

He said that it was the foremost duty of the police to provide security of life and property to the people for which the private sector's participation and cooperation of the people was required.
