LAHORE, Dec 24: The Lahore Development Authority has served a notice on the owners of Ahad Tower, Kalma Chowk (Ferozepur Road), for the recovery of Rs3 million for covering the cost of sewage line repair and road damaged during careless digging.

The Water and Sanitation Agency of the LDA is still engaged in the repair of the 27-inch diameter trunk sewer line ruptured on Dec 9 by the excavator deployed for digging for the construction of basement for the plaza on Dec 9.

Three de-watering sets are being used for pumping sewage from the choked sewer line for keeping the Garden Town sewerage system functioning. The under-construction plaza is owned by a ruling party MPA.

Meanwhile, the closure of a Kalma Chowk slip road by the plaza owner continues to cause problems to motorists. The builder has also dumped construction material on the busy intersection without any hindrance for the last over a month.
