LAHORE: Cases of 300 officials sent to CM for action

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 23: The Chief Minister's Inspection Team has completed inquiries against 300 Punjab government officials and submitted reports for further action.

The information was given at a meeting held here on Thursday to review the progress of inquiries with Minister for CMIT Col Shuja Khanzada (retired) in the chair and attended by team chairman Arsalan Khan and members.

Col Khanzada stressed the need for completion of the pending inquiries at the earliest for ensuring accountability of the corrupt government officials. He said the CMIT was setting up regional offices for redressing the grievances of the people at their doorstep.

A summary had also been sent to the chief minister for the appointment of five more members on the CMIT for ensuring early disposal of cases. The minister was told that a computer lab had been set up at the CMIT head office and data of the planning and development department and details of development schemes being executed in the province had been loaded.

He said the team would monitor the progress of all the ongoing development projects and submit reports regarding quality of work and materials to the chief minister.
