KARACHI: Progress of LEW project reviewed


KARACHI, Dec 23: Progress of the work on Lyari Expressway (LEW) project was reviewed at a meeting here on Thursday with Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani in the chair.

LEW Project Director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha briefed the meeting about the progress and said that 75 per cent of the work pertaining to right of way would be completed within a week.

He also briefed the participants of the meeting about the achievements in the demolition work, carried out in accordance with the approved line of action and as per the government's rules and policy, in respect of the resettlement programme. The chief secretary appreciated performance of the concerned officials of the LEW, NHA, CDGK and police and called for timely completion of the project.

He specifically advised EDO Revenue to overcome the bottlenecks within the stipulated time in collaboration with the respective nation-building department. Those who attended the meeting included ACS Ghulam Sarwer Khero, DCO Fazalul Rehman and KWSB MD Brig Iftikhar Hyder. -APP
