S. Africa call up Gibbs and Langeveldt

JOHANNESBURG, Dec 22: Batsman Herschelle Gibbs was named on Wednesday in a South African squad for the second and third Tests against England.

Gibbs is almost certain to return to his opening slot alongside captain Graeme Smith following a hand injury.

Uncapped fast bowler Charl Langeveldt, who had match figures of seven for 73 in South Africa A's victory over England in Potchefstroom, has also been included in the 14-man squad for the Durban (Dec 26-30) and Cape Town (Jan 2-6) Tests.

The squad also includes two wicketkeepers, Thami Tsolekile and Abraham de Villiers. De Villiers made his debut in the first test in Port Elizabeth as a batsman while Tsolekile had a good game with the gloves in his third Test.

England won the first match of the five-Test series by seven wickets.
