NEW DELHI, Dec 21: An Indian Army officer accused of faking the killings of Pakistani soldiers in the Siachen Glacier, has been found guilty by an army court martial in Jodhpur, NDTV news channel reported on Tuesday.

It said Major Surinder Singh has been dismissed and sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment, for faking the killings of Pakistani soldiers to win awards. The court found him guilty on all seven counts that he was charged with.

These include creating an unnecessary alarm and fake firing. Major Singh, who had filmed the fake encounters, has always claimed that he was acting under orders from his senior officers.
