Muttahida's coordination committee reorganized

KARACHI, Dec 19: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has named Mr Tariq Javed as acting convener of the party's coordination committee, while Dr Farooq Sattar has been made its deputy convener.

The decision was announced by the founder chief of the MQM, Altaf Hussain, during his telephonic address from London to party officials at the Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall in Azizabad. Those present included members of the committee, sector in-charges from all over Sindh, legislators, ministers, advisers, and members of all departments.

Mr Hussain urged members of the reorganized committee to carry out their duties with honesty and dedication and ensure party discipline at every level.

According to an announcement, faxed to Dawn from the MQM headquarters, Mr Anwar Alam and Abdul Haseeb would respectively be in-charge and joint in-charge of the committee, while Kanwar Naveed, Ismail Qureshi, Shoaib Akhtar, Ansa Mumtaz Anwar, Muhammad Anwar, Tariq Meer, Muhammad Ashfaq, Javed Kazmi and Wase Jalil would be its members.
