'Management of water being given priority'

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Raza Hayat Harraj has said the government is giving top priority to water management system, utilization of water resources and development of agriculture sector.

He was talking to a delegation of World Bank from Mexico, led by Mr Manual, which called on him at his residence here on Sunday. During the meeting they discussed matters related to water management system in Pakistan, agriculture sector, communication system, agriculture-related matters like milk, beef, oil seeds, canola and sunflower.

The minister informed the leader of the delegation that the government had clear vision to develop water sector to boost agriculture and national economy of Pakistan.

Mr Harraj appreciated water management and irrigation system for the development of agriculture sector in Mexico and said Pakistan would benefit from Mexico's expertise in this regard. Mr Manual appreciated the measures being taken by the Pakistani government for the development of water resources and promotion of agriculture.
