Four SBC members elected unopposed

KARACHI, Dec 17: Mohammad Siddiq Khoso of Jacobabad, Sher Mohammad Wassan of Mirpurkhas, Muzafar Ali Leghari of Tharparkar and Ali Mohammad Dahri of Nawabshah have been declared elected unopposed as Members of the Sindh Bar Council from their respective districts.

Sindh Advocate General Anwar Mansoor Khan, Returning Officer of Sindh Bar Council Election-2004, notified the names of the members on Friday. The notification states, "Since the number of valid proposals from these districts does not exceed the number of members to be elected from those districts under Rule 10(1) of the Pakistan Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Rules 1976, they are declared as Member of Sindh Bar Council unopposed."

The Sindh Bar Council Elections are scheduled on Jan 15. The Returning Officer has also released the list of contesting candidates after fresh scrutiny held on Dec 15. --PPI
