PML-N predicts collapse of system

Published December 18, 2004

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Information Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Siddiqul Farooque has said the system set up by Gen Pervez Musharraf is heading towards its logical end.

Commenting on Gen Pervez Musharraf's remarks that the present system would stay by 2007, Mr Farooque said in a statement that the system had already been eaten hollow by the cancer of incompetence, failure, inflation, unemployment, poverty, corruption, injustice and despair.

"We have heard with open ears Gen Musharraf's claim that the edifice erected by him would stay, but we are also observing with open eyes that the system of government is already galloping towards its doom."

He recalled that all the claims and promises made by Gen Musharraf in the past had been proved wrong. He said it was known to all economists that about four billion dollars had flown out of the country in past few months, while rest of the foreign exchange was about to leave.
