KARACHI: 30pc seats allocated for workers' children


KARACHI, Dec 17: The Sindh Workers' Welfare Board on Friday announced that 30 per cent seats in five bachelors and two master programmes at Comset Institute of Information Technology , Lahore, have been reserved for the children of industrial workers of Sindh.

The students would be provided free of cost education under this programme. The minimum qualification for graduation programme is intermediate while the graduate students would be offered admission in master programmes.

The children of industrial workers of the province are asked to submit their applications for admission in graduation programme in telecommunication engineering, computer engineering, computer science, business administration, and information technology and masters programme in business administration and computer science.

All the industrial workers who fulfil requirements of Workers' Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971, and who have completed minimum three-year service in any industrial institution and whose salary does not exceed Rs8000 per month can apply for admission to this free education programme. -PPI
