MARDAN: Wapda men harassed by villagers

MARDAN, Dec 17: A group of people Bakhshali village allegedly kidnapped two Wapda men while they were checking illegal connections. However, the kidnappers released lineman Afsar Khan after torturing him while police got freed superintendent Kamran Khan from their custody by conducting a raid.

It is learnt that the two were on a routine duty, checking illegal power connections in the village, when some people, including one identified as Ismael, rounded them up and kept them in an unknown place for some hours.

The police conducted a raid in the area on being alerted and surrounded the adjacent villages during their operation. They succeeded in securing release of Wapda superintendent after some effort. The captors managed to escape from the scene. An FIR has been lodged against Ismael, his father and two of their relatives.
