KARACHI: Body found in snooker club

KARACHI, Dec. 17: Dead body of a 50-year-old man, identified only as Anwar, was recovered from a snooker club in Korangi on Friday.

Police said that the deceased, whose body was found from a snooker club in Altaf town, was a member of the elders' committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. A case was filed against Zafar Iqbal, Safdar and Ejaz, all said to be land grabbers. Police said that deceased owned a snooker club in the same area.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate traffic accidents in the city on Friday. An 18-year-old boy, Mohammad Faisal, died in a hit-and-run accident at the Korangi Crossing on Friday. Police said that the accident victim was taken to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A conductor of a passenger coach died after being run over by the same vehicle in the limits of New Town police station. Police said that Abdul Sattar, 20, had lost his balance.

An elderly woman died in a hit and run accident on the Sir Shah Suliman Road on Friday. Police said that the 80-year-old woman, Haleema, wife of Juma Khan, was hit by a speeding vehicle as she was crossing the main road near Essa Nagri. Bodies of the deceased were all shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem examination.
