ISLAMABAD: Bail plea of ex-Sindh minister rejected

ISLAMABAD, Dec 16: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a bail petition of former Sindh minister Syed Qabool Shah involved in the murder of Fateh Muhammad Jhakrani.
A three-member bench, comprising Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice M Javed Buttar, dismissed the bail plea after hearing arguments from both sides.
According to the FIR, Syed Qabool Shah of Tando Muhammad Khan allegedly killed Fateh Muhammad Jhakrani on May 10, 2004, in Hyderabad. Senior advocate Abdul Hafeez Pirzada represented appellant Syed Qabool Shah while Additional Advocate-General of Sindh Qazi Khalid appeared on behalf of the provincial government.
Qazi Khalid told the court that a challan against the accused had already been submitted before the trial court besides a medical report and the evidence recorded in the case also proved the accused guilty. He said Muhamamd Ali Shah Jamoot and Usman Almani Baloch had already recorded their evidence in the case as eye witnesses.
