BD shows interest in Nadra's services

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: The visiting Bangladesh delegation on Wednesday showed interest in the back-end technology being used in Machine Readable Passport (MRP) project of the National Database and Registration Authority and intended to borrow the MRP solutions from Nadra.

The delegation led by Ministry of Home Affairs Additional Secretary S. M. Jahrul Islam visited the Nadra headquarters in Islamabad and appreciated the authority's endeavours in collecting and maintaining authentic database of Pakistani citizens.

The delegates said these steps would also be helpful in eradicating crimes. The delegation also appreciated the technology being used for the MRP and Automatic Border Control System projects.

During the visit, Nadra Chairman Brig (retired) Saleem Moeen informed the delegates that the authority was equipped with high- tech and cutting edge technology. He said for the MRP project, Nadra was providing all technical facilities including software, hardware and training of the staff of Immigration and Passport Department.

Brig Moeen also briefed the delegation on Nadra projects including Computerized National Identity Card, Machine Readable Passport, Vehicle Identification and Tracking System, Biometrics System and Geographical Information System.
