SIALKOT, Dec 15: Punjab Industries Minister Ajmal Cheema has said the government was making sincere efforts for the promotion of poultry and livestock sectors.

He told newsmen here on Wednesday that Rs1 billion have been earmarked to give loans to traders on soft terms and purchase modern equipment. He said the government would soon set up special training centres for enhancing the poultry and livestock production by motivating the traders to adopt the modern technologies.

He sought cooperation of the private sector urging it to come forward and join hands with the government for making the country self reliant in meat and milk production.

Mr Cheema said poultry and livestock exports could be enhanced to $1 billion within two years by adopting modern techniques.
