HYDERABAD, Dec 15: Activists of the Awami Tehrik marched from Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain to the press club here on Wednesday to protest against Kalabagh dam and greater Thal canal projects.

A large number of women, belonging to the Sindhiani Tehrik, also participated in the march. The protesters carried party flags, banners and placards and raised slogans against what they called anti-Sindh projects.

Talking to the protesters, party leaders Dr Nazir Shaikh, Ms Nazir Qureshi and others regretted that lawlessness and unemployment had increased in the province. They called upon the Sindh government to resign for its failure to control the situation.

They warned that if the ongoing construction of the Thal canal was not stopped, people of Sindh would raise strong resistance. They said the rulers should stop alleged excesses and conspiracies against Sindh.

RECRUITMENT CENTRE: The Army Selection and Recruitment Centre, Hyderabad, has announced registration numbers of successful candidates of the third selection schedule, 2004, of Badin, Mithi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar districts.
