LAHORE: Rs1.9m robbery in garment unit

LAHORE, Dec 13: Dacoits looted cash and valuables worth Rs1.9 million from a garment unit in Nishtar Colony on Monday.

Mrs Saeed told police that eight gun-toting men stormed into her garment unit and held up the staff. The intruders tied up the staffers with ropes, collected cash and valuables, and escaped after loading the same on a truck.

Dr Zubaida told the police that she parked her car outside a store in Shadman when two armed men held her up and snatched away cash and jewellery worth Rs60,000. Two armed men intercepted a beverage company distribution van in Sabzazar and deprived its cashier of cash and a cell phone worth Rs18,000.

Three robbers stormed into the house of Hanif in Hanjarwal and made off with cash, gold and valuables worth Rs170,000. Two gunmen snatched a motorcycle from Burki while two motorcycles were stolen from Civil Lines. More motorcycles were lifted from Mozang, Old Anarkali, Samanabad, Shadbagh and Qila Gujjar Singh, while a car was driven away from Allama Iqbal Town.

FOUND DEAD: An elderly man was found dead in his rented house in Sadiq Colony in Harbanspura. Imran of Faisalabad told police that he together with his father, Rafiq, 70, had been living in the rented house for some years. He said he had gone to his native village and, on return, he found his father lying dead. Imran denied of having any enmity.
