PESHAWAR, Dec 10: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said that a permanent Agency Headquarters Complex would be built near Shakai and all the offices at present stationed in Wana and Tank would be shifted to the new complex.
He was addressing to a tribal gathering on arrival in Shakai on Thursday at the last leg of his two-day visit to South Waziristan Agency. The governor announced that Rs270 million would be spent under the Shakai package to provide facilities to the tribesmen in different social sectors with a quick implementation process.
MNA Maulana Abdul Malik, former senator and Wazir tribe chief Malik Faridullah Khan, Fata (security) Secretary Brig (retired) Mahmood Shah and Political Agent Asmatullah Gandapur were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the governor inaugurated the construction of a new tehsil building in Shakai, where, during a briefing, he was informed that the scheme would cast Rs19.50 million.
The governor paid tributes to the tribesmen of Shakai, saying they were the pioneers of restoration of peace in South Waziristan Agency for which they deserved appreciation and reward. The government, he said, duly recognized their services in this regard.
