Aqeel top seeded

KARACHI, Dec 9: Pakistan No 1 tennis player Aqeel Khan will be the top seed in the men's singles event according to the technical committee of 8th Salma Noorani tennis championship which has finalized the seeding for various events on Thursday.

The event carrying a cash prize of Rs 230,000 will be held at Karachi Club with the qualifying rounds starting from Dec 11 at 9am. The main rounds will commence from Dec 12.

Aqeel who is the defending champion is followed by Nomi Qamar at No 2, Asim Shafiq No 3 and Jalil Khan will be the fourth seed. Nida Rahim has been top seeded top in the women's singles.

In junior U-17 event, Qmar Baber is the top seed followed by Tanveer Ashiq, Khurram Nazir and Tanveer Munir. Ghulam Abbas will be the top seeded player in boy's Under-13 event. -PPI
