ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: The US embassy has launched the American Legal Discovery Centre project to equip seven law libraries in Pakistan with access to the latest legal information
and provide an opportunity to the legal community to broaden their knowledge of the US legal system.
The first centre was presented to the Library of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan by the Embassy Press Attache, Gerggory Crouch, on Tuesday, says a press release. Speaking at the inauguration of the centre, Mr Crouch said, "The US has a longstanding commitment to spreading the ideals and values of American democracy and civil society to foreign audiences and engage and maintain an open dialogue with people throughout the world."
Through the $30,000 project, seven centres will be established at prominent law libraries. The embassy also organized a software training workshop for professional legal researchers.
