KARACHI: Seniority list sought


KARACHI, Dec 9: Sindh Minister for Social Welfare and Culture, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, has sought a report about the seniority list of officers of social welfare department within two days.

He issued the directive while speaking as chief guest at a reception hosted by Social Welfare Officers Association here on Thursday.

Earlier, the association's president, Anwar Hussain highlighted the problems of department officials and said that seniority list of officials had not been issued for the last two years.

He also pointed out the problems like nomination of favourites for local and foreign training programmes, restoration of posts of medical social welfare officers and appointment of junior officials in senior grades.

The minister directed that procedure for nomination of officers for training programmes should be made transparent so that all officials could have equal opportunities.

He assured that he would take up their problems regarding up gradation of Grade 18 posts, increase in the budget, restoration of posts of medical social welfare officer with the Provincial Finance Minister Sardar Ahmed. He also held out assurance with regard to the election of Sindh Paramedical Staff Association and the problem of their registration. -APP
