PIA to increase flights to Turkey

By Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to increase number of flights between the two countries in an effort to strengthen the aviation links.

According to an official handout, the decision to increase the number of flights was taken after extensive talks between the Turkish officials and visiting civil aviation delegation of Pakistan, headed by Minister of State for Defence Zahid Hamid.

Under the agreement, the Turkish Airlines and the PIA have agreed to commence "code sharing flights" between the two countries from the present two weekly frequencies to seven weekly frequencies. The Turkish Airlines will operate four frequencies on the Istanbul-Karachi route and the PIA will operate three frequencies on the Istanbul-Abu Dhabi-Istanbul route.
