SAHIWAL: Three held with arms

SAHIWAL, Dec 8: Police recovered illicit arms from two cars and arrested three people at the district courts here on Wednesday.

On a tip-off, the police raided the court of district sessions judge and recovered weapons from the vehicles - (LOC-5390) (LHA-2977). The police seized a pump action with 15 cartridges, a seven MM rifle with 56 live bullets and an eight MM rifle with 93 rounds.

The arrested were identified as Hammad Latif, Nasrullah and Asif Waheed. However, the police acquitted a farmer, Yaqoob, and his driver Zafar Iqbal for keeping licenced arms. Civil lines police have registered a case under Section 13 20/65 of the Arms Ordinance.

GANG-RAPED: A married woman was gang-raped and two girls were kidnapped here on Tuesday in the district in different incidents. Reports said Rehmat Ali and his two men kidnapped 'S' from Chak 175/9-L.

Mumtaz along with his two accomplices abducted 'K' from her house at Chak 82/5-L and took away Rs40,000. Rehmat Ali and his accomplices kidnapped a married woman 'K' from her house at Chak 63/GD and allegedly gang-raped her.
