KARACHI, Dec 7: Police arrested two suspects after an encounter in North Karachi. Police said that two suspects on a motorcycle (KBC-9887) were depriving two women of gold ornaments in Sector 11-A of North Karachi when two policemen on a motorcycle appeared.

Seeing the policemen, the suspects tried to flee by opening fire at them. Police returned the fire wounding the two suspects, identified as Shoaib and Saleem. Two TT pistols and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from their possession. Later, police took the wounded suspects to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

ROBBERY: A woman on her return from the UK was deprived of foreign currency by armed suspects in North Nazimabad. Police said when Rehana Jabeen reached her house in North Nazimabad Block B- she was deprived of foreign currency worth one million rupees by armed suspects. Police said that the suspects might have been tailing her from the airport.

On Hubco Road, a young man and a dumper driver were deprived of cash and valuables. A UC Nazim of Keamari Town, Mubarak Baloch told Dawn that two suspects on a scooter deprived a man of Rs9,000 and a driver of cash and valuables.

He said the suspects handed over a slip to the driver challenging the area SHO and declaring that they would continue rob people.
