LANDI KOTAL, Dec 6: A delegation of Khyber Agency Paramedics Association and a tribal jirga constituted by the Bara political administration returned empty-handed from Tirah valley, failing to secure release of a medical technician.

The medical technician, Kamaluddin, was abducted by armed kidnappers on August 23 this year. Fazlur Rehman, the president of Khyber Agency Paramedics Association, who headed the delegation, told Dawn that Kamaluddin had been shifted from Arhanga by his captors for fear of a raid by the authorities.

He alleged that the Bara administration was in contact with Kamaluddin's abductors through another gang of criminals in the area. He demanded that a jirga of notables be constituted in order to pressurize the captors to set free the technician.
