BAHAWALPUR, Dec 5: Local police teams blocked the main thoroughfare leading to Multan and off-loaded a number of MMA activists and workers from buses who were on board to attend the alliance public meeting.
This was alleged by JI spokesman Jalil Hashmi here on Sunday. He alleged that a heavy contingent of police was deployed at river Sutlej bridge where it forcibly off-loaded MMA activists from several buses. Hashmi claimed that 1,000 workers from Bahawalpur were scheduled to leave for Multan but due to police action only a few could make it to the destination.
CAR RALLY: The Cholistan desert jeep car rally will be organized in a befitting manner by the district government. This was stated by District Nazim Tariq Cheema while reviewing the car rally arrangements at a meeting he chaired here on Saturday.
According to the district nazim, the rally will be held from Jan 7 to Jan 9 and end with a mega show at Derawar Fort. A handicraft bazaar, camel dance and race and camel Safari will be the highlights of the show.
