QUETTA, Dec 4: Police briefly detained a group of jobless agriculture graduates who staged a demonstration in front of the main gate of the Chief Minister Secretariat, demanding jobs.

Members of the Balochistan Unemployed Agriculture and Engineers' Association had assembled in front of the Chief Minister Secretariat on Saturday, holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands.

In his brief speech, a spokesman for the association said that the government had promised to accommodate unemployed youths in different departments but despite the passage of several months there was no fulfilment of the promise.

The civil lines police arrested the protestors near the Chief Minister Secretariat but they were later freed.
