Pakistani newsman dies in Jeddah

RIYADH, Dec 2: Veteran Saudi Arabia-based Pakistani journalist, Mazhar Hassan Siddiqui, died in a Jeddah hospital in the early hours of Thursday after a brief illness. He had been admitted to the hospital a couple of days back.

For over a decade, Mazhar Siddiqui had been working for Jeddah-based daily, Saudi Gazette as the head of its national desk. Before coming Saudi Arabia, he was assistant Editor of Pakistan Quarterly, Directorate of Films & Publications. He was also associated with Radio Pakistan for a long time.

Mazhar Siddiqui is survived by his wife and two children. He was buried in Jeddah in the evening on Thursday. Soyem will be held at B-64, Block 10, F. B Area, after Zuhar prayer on Saturday.
