By Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Dec 2: District Naib Nazim Nawab Rashid Ali Khan has called upon teachers, parents and local government functionaries to undertake joint efforts to improve the standard of education and literacy rate.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of repair and renovation work of the Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School, Latifabad unit 10, here on Thursday. The naib nazim said construction of school buildings and provision of equipment were not enough but what was needed was imparting quality education.

He stressed the need for bringing about reforms in the education sector and said without community participation, the quality of education could not be improved. DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed informed the gathering that the first phase of the repair and renovation work of the school had been completed at a cost of Rs1.76 million and the second and final phase would be completed in two months at a cost of Rs0.8 million.
