Soomro says he may sign dual-office bill


HYDERABAD, Nov 28: Acting President and Chairman Senate Mohammedmian Soomro has said that he has not signed the twin-office bill, which authorizes President Gen Pervez Mushraf to hold the office of chief of army staff along with that of president , but if he was required to sign it in his capacity as acting president he would do it.

Mr Soomro was talking to journalists at a reception given by the Kotri Association of Trade and Industry on Sunday. Answering a question, he said the release on bail of Asif Ali Zardari was not the result of any deal but it was on the orders of court and that court might also order the release of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi. -PPI
