MANSHERA: Role of cadet colleges lauded

By Our Correspondent

MANSHERA, Nov 28: The NWFP Governor, Syed Iftkhar Hussain Shah, has said that cadet colleges have got an edge in the educational system and they educate a galaxy of cadets from all the four provinces , Azad Kashmir and the Northern Areas in a congenial academic atmosphere.

He was speaking as chief guest at the parents' day of the Pakistan Scout Cadet College (Batrasi) here on Saturday. The governor said that unfortunately, the education sector has not been given proper attention but now the importance of education has been realized and both the public and private sector were striving hard to provide quality education to the students in accordance with the need of the hour.

He said that efforts were being made for promotion of quality education and funds were being allocated for this purpose. The governor said that the government alone could not achieve this end and the private sector would also have to play their due role in the interest of future generations.

He said that active participation of cadet colleges in imparting education was a very positive sign. "We must offer them a helping hand and enable them to avail education of international standard in their own country," he maintained.
